Suffolk County Championships - 2017 - Captains Report
So after many hours of training and hard work, the big deal came around as it always does this time of year. The ultimate gala where Sudbury clashes horns with all the other clubs in Suffolk. The counties.
With a few people's first time there and many other veterans, Sudbury were ready for the pinnacle of swimming. It all started off with an intense session of eating pizza and being quizzed. We got to load up on carbs (just don't tell Chris about the high fat). Then on the day after squeezing into the tightest racing costume known to man, we were all ready to race!
First a good warm up then after 2 hours (?) you might get to swim your race. There were many successes with some swimmers getting to wear the mythical black hat in a final. Overall I reckon Sudbury had the best support out of every club there.
After many an exhausting weekend of sprinting, cheering and relaying, the counties were finally over for another year. It was fun, exciting and defiantly worth qualifying for again. I hope that everyone who qualifies has just as much fun at the regional.
