Some 150 swimmers from all over the country took up Sudbury swimming club's invitation to join them for a special masters Open meet. And the event, the second of its kind held in the town in two years could become an annual one.

There were excellent support and a fine evening's competition, said club official Trevor Allison.

It was such a success that we are considering holding one every year. The meet was for adults and entrants were attracted through advertising in national swimming magazines.

Races were in age groups with gold, silver and bronze medals for various winners. Held at the Kingfisher Pool Sudbury, Saturday's event was sponsored by Hanover Housing.
