Aims of the Club

The Sudbury & District Swimming Club is competitive and aims to develop the individual skills of swimmers to reach their full potential whilst being part of a team.

This club puts great emphasis on getting enjoyment, fun and friendship from swimming whilst taking it as a serious sport.  There are achievement targets for all levels of swimmers, from local friendly galas to county championships.

Age Range

The ideal age range to join is 7-12 years, however we welcome swimmers of all ages.  We currently have approximately 100 members.

Teams representing the club at competitions are fielded with swimmers from 9 to 24 years old.

Swimmers develop competitive technique whilst building on the basic skills acquired from their swimming classes.

Club Achievements

We attend galas at different levels to enable our swimmers to compete at their standard.

Over recent years we have had a number of County Champions , who have progressed to district level in their age group.  Some have also taken part in National Championships.

The club competes in Winter, Summer and Speedo leagues providing competitive swimming throughout the year.

Coaching

The training and coaching is co-ordinated by fully qualified ASA coaches who provide a structured and balanced programme.  Coaching is geared towards Fun, Skills, Training, Competing and ‘Winning’.

Running & Organisation of the Swimming Club

The club is well organised with a full committee consisting of 10 voluntary members.  The list of members is available on request.
